I left work early today to go to the Mazda dealer regarding my driver’s seat issue ( !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ).

I was there for literally 5 minutes. The service manager came out and looked and said it is coming apart at the seams and it shouldn’t be a problem getting it fixed. He said they’ll submit the photos, get verification, order the replacement cover, and call me to schedule. He said “Manufacturers today. Sometimes, they’re so hard to work with. They need photos of everything.” I smiled and said “They’re going to know ‘hard to work with’ if they try to deny this claim.” He chuckled.

So, I’ll have a newly recovered seat soon enough. Good.

Good luck! Did any googling bring up others having this issue? Might not be an isolated case.

Good for you!

Mine’s been coming apart, but considering the car’s 12 years old, I don’t think I should try and make a warranty claim.

That's the oddity. I haven't found a single case of this anywhere and I have scoured Google. It truly is a fluke.

That’s good news, that means the replacement will likely be fine and it won’t happen again.

I’ve worked in mazda service for about six months now, haven’t seen this on any of the newer models before.
